It’s important to give back, because if you never stand up for what you believe in, nobody else is going to. What if you’re here on this earth to help make an important discovery, but you didn’t value your thoughts enough to do anything?
Stand up for the things you believe in, live a life that is meaningful to you, and make sure you can sleep at night knowing you’re doing your part to make this world a better place. There’s no time like the present.
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. -MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
If I’ve learned anything from life, it’s that sometimes the darkest times can bring us to the brightest places. I’ve learned that the most toxic people can teach us the most important lessons; that our most painful struggles can grant us the most necessary growth, and that the most heartbreaking losses of friendship and love can make room for the most wonderful people. I’ve learned that what seems like a curse in the moment can actually be a blessing, and what seems like the end of the road is actually just the discovery that we are meant to travel down a different path. I’ve learned that no matter how difficult things seem, there is always hope. And I’ve learned that no matter how powerless we feel or how horrible things seem, we can’t give up. We have to keep going.
Even when it’s scary, even when all of our strength seems gone, we have to keep picking ourselves back up and moving forward, because whatever we’re battling in the moment, it will pass, and we will make it through. We’ve made it this far. We can make it through whatever comes next. (Not my words).
You’re going to realize it one day that happiness was never about your job or your degree or being in a relationship. Happiness was never about following in the footsteps of all of those who came before you; it was never about being like the others. One day, you’re going to see it-that happiness was always about the discovery, the hope, the listening to your heart and following it wherever it chose to go. Happiness was always about being kinder to yourself; it was always about embracing the person you were becoming. One day, you will understand that happiness was always about learning how to live with yourself, that your happiness was never in the hands of others.
Happiness was always about you, it will always be about you.
